Sopore witnesses complete poll boycott; Afzal Guru’s home town records 12 votes so far



BARAMULLA: Not a single vote was cast at 11 polling stations in Sopore town till 2.30PM while as 12 votes were polled at Mazebugh, nearest village of the slain parliament attack convict Afzal Guru .

Sopore town has always been a hub of the militants, and the residents have also supported them.

Nobody is surprised at the complete poll boycott in this part of Kashmir.

"11 polling booths are in Girls Higher Secondary School, Sopore and not a single voter turned to cast vote so far," an official said.



Farooq Ahmad Dar of sopore town says, '' how can we forget the hanging of Afzal Guru and participate in the election process.''
