Pakistan asks Afghan authorities to ensure border security



ISLAMABAD: Pakistan here on Thursday called on Afghan authorities to ensure their border security so that attacks emanating from their soil are stopped. Speaking during her weekly press briefing, the Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam has said that that Pakistan condemns all forms of terrorism.




 She stressed that Pakistan’s soil would not be allowed to be used against other countries.  The spokesperson said Pakistan wanted political stability in Afghanistan. To a question, the spokesperson said that Pakistan strongly raised the issue of Pakistani journalist Faizullah Khan's arrest with the Afghan authorities. Yesterday, an Afghan court has sentenced a Pakistani journalist to four years in jail for "contacting terrorists", officials said. He was arrested in April by Afghan security forces in Nangarhar province near the border with Pakistan after contacting the Pakistani Taliban.
