Nitish wins trust vote after BJP walks out



Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has won the floor test in Bihar Assembly on Wednesday, with the JD(U) securing 126 votes in its favour.

Congress, CPI, LJP and some Independents voted in favour of the confidence motion moved by Mr. Kumar. Twenty-two MLAs from Lalu Prasad's RJD and two Independents voted against the motion.

Bangalore blast a terror attack, says Karnataka Home Min


R Ashok, Karnataka Home Minister told reporters that the blast was a clear act of terror. “BJP office was the target of the blast.” he said. “Appeal to people to remain calm. Culprits will be caught and punished,” he added.Two of the people injured in the Malleshwaram blast were reportedly college students on their way home from tuition classes.

CBI to honour ISI founding member



NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has approached the external affairs ministry with an unusual request. It wants the ministry to facilitate the India visit of the Lahore-based family of a Pakistani who had helped set up the country's spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence.

The reason: the man in question, Khan Bahadur Qurban Ali Khan, was the first chief of the Special Police Establishment (SPE), the forerunner of CBI. Khan is to be honoured posthumously during the upcoming golden jubilee celebrations of CBI.

Khan, who was an officer of the erstwhile Indian Police during British rule, will be among a host of former directors of the country's premier probe agency who will be honoured at the April 6 event.
