New Delhi: Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh's sister Dalbir Kaur said Pakistan has murdered her brother and alleged that Pakistan human rights activist Ansar Burney had demanded Rs 25 crore to help Sarabjit. "Had I paid Rs 25 crore to Ansar Burney, Sarabjit would have returned to India. I am poor so could not pay him. Burney had told me that at least pay Rs 2 crore to get Sarabjit. He told him that if I will give him the money in the morning, Sarabjit will be released by evening," she alleged.

Pak activist Ansar Burney demanded Rs 25 crore to save

Punjab: Protests erupt in Sarabjit's native village
Amritsar: Angry protests on Thursday broke out in Sarabjit Singh's native Bhikhiwind village after the Indian prisoner died in a Lahore hospital with villagers lashing out at Pakistani authorities for the deadly attack on him. Shouting anti-Pakistan slogans, several villagers burnt Pakistani flags to register their protest.
During their protest demonstrations, the villagers charged Pakistan with murdering Sarabjit. They also lashed out at Pakistani authorities for not shifting Sarabjit to some other country for "proper treatment."
Ansar Burney denies Sarabjit’s sister accusations
Human rights activist Ansar Burney on Thursday turned down the allegations of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh’s sister Dalbir Kaur. Dalbir Kaur had claimed that Burney demanded Rs 25 crore from her to ensure Sarabjit’s release from Pakistan.
Denying Dalbir Kaur’s claims, Burney tweeted, “I was shocked to hear nonsense & false accusation by Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarbajit Singh, I was the one who helped her every time. I feel a lot of pain by her false & slanderous allegations since I always tried to help her family and her brother on humanitarian grounds.”
India reacts with anger, dismay over Sarabjit's death in Pakistan
NEW DELHI/AMRITSAR: India on Thursday reacted with anger and dismay on hearing the news of death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Lahore's government-run Jinnah Hospital this morning.
Sarabjit had been admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital with a severe head injury and injuries to his neck and torso last Friday.
He had been attacked by six Pakistani prisoners while on a stroll inside Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail.
Punjab CM Badal says Punjab govt to give a state funeral to Sarabjit Singh
CHANDIGARH: Punjab CM Parkash Singh Badal today demanded an independent probe by an international agency into the circumstances leading to death of Indian prisoner Sarabjit Singh in Pakistan.
Badal also criticised the Centre's approach towards the matter.
