Twenty one year-old girl allegedly gang-raped in moving car in Amritsar



AMRITSAR: Four persons allegedly raped a 21-year-old girl in a moving car on Monday night.

According to superintendent of police, Harjit Singh Brar, the victim in a complaint had alleged that she was going towards Amritsar bus stand at around 7.30pm on Monday when a steel-grey coloured car approached close to her and a person forcibly pulled her inside the car.




There were two persons, one on the driving seat and another on the back seat of car. They were joined by another person in the next square and moved towards Verka where they picked up another alleged accused.

"The girl has informed us that she was raped by four of them in the moving car and was later taken to the cantonment area," added the SP. He said police had sent the girl for medical examination. The accused are yet to be identified but sources informed TOI that at least two of the four have been identified by the police.

A team of doctors have confirmed intercourse but said no injury marks were found on her body, police said.

Brar said call details of the girl's phone show that she received a lot of calls from some particular numbers before and after the incident.
