LAXMIPUR: A serious clash between the leaders and workers of ruling Awami League and opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party left at least one person dead at Ramganj upazila in the district.
The deceased has been identified as Faridul Islam, 27, a Jubo League member of Bholacot union. At least seven people were also injured in the clash. The injured people were rushed to the hospital.
According to local, the leaders and workers of AL and BNP were locked in a serious altercation centering land feud. And at one stage they launched attack on each other. Faridul got serious wounds and died on the spot.
