Salman Khan hurt while filming an action scene for ‘Mental’
New Delhi: For an actor like Salman Khan, who has been doing action scenes in Bollywood for almost two decades now, it was matter of bad timing that resulted in him facing an injury while shooting for Sohail Khan’s much-hyped ‘Mental’.
On Monday afternoon, Salman was performing an action scene, and thus, sprained his ankle and hurt his right toe.

Hrithik Roshan has come out of surgery stronger, says wife Sussanne
Hrithik Roshan underwent a brain surgery for removal of a clot at the Hinduja Hospital on Sunday (July 8, 2013). The surgery was successful and his wife Sussanne Roshan shows "gratitude" to everyone for their "good wishes and prayers" for the star.
Hrithik, who was diagonised with chronic subdural haematoma and was admitted on Saturday evening at the Hinduja Hospital in Khar, was operated upon in the afternoon and came out of the operation theatre around 3 pm.
Barfi! wins top honours at IIFA, Ranbir Kapoor, Vidya Balan bag best actor awards
Bollywood director Anurag Basu's Barfi! won multiple awards at the 14th International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards this year. The Ranbir Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer bagged awards for the best film, best director and the best performance in leading role (male) for its hero.
Ranbir, whose performance in the film has been highly appreciated, was not present to receive the award and it was collected by director Anurag Basu.
"I am really missing Ranbir today. This film could not have been made without him," Basu said, after accepting the award on the actor's behalf.

Salman Khan to be tried for culpable homicide in 2002 hit-and-run case
Actor Salman Khan will be tried for culpable homicide for a hit-and-run accident in 2002 in which one person were killed and four were injured in Mumbai.
If convicted for this charge, Mr Khan, who was not in court today, faces a 10-year jail term. He has been given a month to appear in court.

Bollywood actress Jiah Khan found dead, police suspect suicide
Mumbai: Bollywood actress Jiah Khan was found dead in her apartment in Juhu, Mumbai on late Monday night. The police suspect it is a case of suicide but no suicide note found so far. Jiah was found dead around 10.45 pm on Monday by her mother.
The police also claim that there are some marks on Jiah's neck. A post-mortem has been ordered. Her body was taken in an ambulance to Dr RN Cooper Municipal General Hospital in Juhu for post-mortem. Jiah is believed to have hung herself to death.

I-T raids at Ekta Kapoor, Jeetendra, Tusshar Kapoor's residences
MUMBAI: Income Tax officials on Tuesday conducted searches at Balaji Telefilms' facilities and the residence of its promoters — producer Ekta Kapoor and her actor-father Jeetendra — here for suspected tax evasion.
Sleuths from the department swooped down on seven locations across the city, including the yesteryear star and his daughter's residence in suburban Juhu, as part of the searches, which began at 0700 hours, I-T sources said.

Actor Sanjay Dutt asks Supreme Court for six months to surrender
Actor Sanjay Dutt has asked the Supreme Court to give him six more months before he is imprisoned to allow him to complete his film commitments. His case will be heard tomorrow.
The 53-year-old was sentenced in March to serve five years in jail for illegally owning weapons including an AK-56 in a case linked to the 1993 bomb blasts. He will have to serve a little over three years of that as he has already spent 18 months in prison.
