Pakistan, US discuss Afghan reconciliation process

RAWALPINDI: A United States delegation called on Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani on Sunday and discussed matters of mutual interest, with particular focus on the Afghan reconciliation process.

The US delegation consisted of Acting Special Representative for Afghanistan and Pakistan Ambassador David Pearce, Special Assistant to the President on Afghanistan and Pakistan Lieutenant General (r) Dagulas Lute Principal Assistant Secretary of Defence for Asian and Pacific Security Affairs Dr Peter Lavoy and Ambassador Richard Olson, said an ISPR press release issued on Sunday. Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jillani also attended the meeting.
