Army - Military vows to thwart any aggression against country


RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani has said that the Pakistan Army in coordination with the Navy and PAF is fully configured and prepared to thwart any military aggression against the country.

He was addressing the concluding session of the war game Azm-e-Nau 4 on Sunday which commenced at the National Defence University Islamabad on June 3. The chief of army staff reiterated Pakistan Army’s resolve to meet all future challenges squarely. He also added that the military success depended on being fully prepared, support of the people of Pakistan and other state institutions. Gen Kayani also appreciated the dedication and commitment of all the participants of the war game.




The chief of army staff and Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Tahir Rafiq Butt attended the concluding session. Exercise Azm-e-Nau 4 was attended by a large number of senior officers of the Pakistan Army, Navy and PAF. During the war game, spanning over two weeks, strategic and operational plans were crystallised and validated to develop a comprehensive response. Operational plans of the Pakistan Air Force were also finalised in close coordination with the army
