Balochistan CM does away with secret fund



QUETTA: Announcing the abolition of secret funds in his address to the provincial assembly soon after taking oath as the 14th Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch on Sunday said he would rule with respect and prefer resignation to compromising on principles.

Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi administered the oath of office to Dr Malik at the Governor’s House. Acting Chief Minister Nawab Ghous Bukhsh Barozai, Speaker Mir Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali, Corps Commander Lt. Gen. Alam Khan Khattak, IG Frontier Corps (FC) Maj.




Gen. Obaidullah Khattak, lawmakers and people belonging to different shades of life attended the oath-taking ceremony.In his address to the BA, Dr Baloch announced a stop to secret funds and said that if he failed his test as the CM, then he may be punished as deemed fit.

In his address to the Balochistan Assembly today, he said that the missing persons issue was currently the most serious problem and holds the utmost priority.While announcing a stop to secret funds the Balochistan CM said that if he failed his test as the Chief Minister, then he may be punished as deemed fit.

“I am sure we will definitely sort out the issue if it happened,” said Dr. Malik and expressed the desire that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and the military leadership should come forward to resolve the issues of Balochistan.

He deplored that Balochistan was burning and the situation had left almost every educational institution in a mess. He observed that the province could not develop unless peace was restored and appealed to the Baloch armed groups to take part in a dialogue for the betterment of the province.
